Conservation Engineering

A Collection of Casework – Volume 1

A reference work describing structural repairs that have been carried out on historic buildings for a wide variety of clients and circumstances. This Volume of condensed case histories has been written to appeal to Conservation Professionals, Builders and Homeowners alike.

Likely to become the definitive reference for anyone concerned with the repair of historic buildings

This major new work is a snapshot of condensed case histories of structural analysis and design of repairs carried out to a wide range of historic buildings.

Commonly occurring structural problems with old buildings are addressed and the solutions presented for the interest of conservation professionals, specialist builders and homeowners alike.

Designed to be an easy and an informative read, ‘dippable’ in and out of at any point, this book is intended to be a guide as to what ‘has been done’ and is not a manual of ‘how to do things’ – so it is offered as a pointer to how conservation methods may be employed to best effect whilst also being economical in their execution.

864 pages, A4 colour throughout, 630 photographs and 400 diagrams with a pictogram index system, all of which serve to illustrate the wide variety of issues found.
